A bike box is designed for cyclists and triathletes that travel with their bikes to events both at home in the UK as well as abroad. If you compete for example in the Iron Man contests you will know that these take place in many different countries and so to get to the event and compete it is imperative that you have a robust plastic box that can withstand travel and being moved around and treated with airport type handling!! They are usually made with a tough plastic shell and can fit both road, tri and mountain bikes into them. You will have to take off the pedals an essentially loosen headsets etc to get it in the box, but once in it is the perfect carrying tool.
